Answer
Its an auto-generated folder in many of the UNIX systems. The system may shutdown while working with files, it may corrupted at next boot. So it will be placed in lost+found directory by fsck (Filesystem Check) tool. You don't need to remove that folder and also its impossible to recover the complete file if its corrupted and placed over there.

what is the use of lost+found directory in linux
I have mounted a new HDD. Its empty but contains lost+found directory. It has 157MB of size. Is it necessary or i can delete it.
