Scribe

Scribe is an open source text editor for Linux. It is the only text editor that uniquely blends simplicity with powerful functions. It is a spatial and document- centric, object- oriented application and it is not designed like a normal text editor. Its simple interface is accessible by trigger window that contains the features for a text editor. There are no tabs in Scribe, instead there is a feature called document switcher, which allows the user to focus any document open by Scribe. It is scalable, efficient and allows focusing on any number of documents. It also supports automatic saving, syntax highlighting, snippets, automatic word completion, smart indentation, etc.
