Introduction:
FreeNAS is an open-source Network-Attached Storage OS acting on FreeBSD with the least system requirements and a secured online community filling for the purpose of a support organization. Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning or WebDAV is a protocol whose fundamental functionality involves enabling users to share, copy, move and edit files through a web server that can also be used for collaborative applications including file locking and revision tracking.
Procedure:
Login to FreeNas, This is the dashboard page of FreeNas: Goto pools and create a new pool:
Once completed open Webdav shares and create a new share: After that again goto pools and edit permissions: Select the webdav service: Once completed goto services: Open webdav configuration, edit and save:
Start the webdav service Then open browser type the FreeNas IP in address bar with file path It will ask for the credentials It will show the share directory on browser: With this method configuration of WebDav service on FREENAS comes to an end.
