you can cross check it with the virtual keyboard software inbuilt with OS if it is worked properly means, obviously, you have a problem with your hardware.

laptop number keypad not working
I have an HP laptop about a year and a half old. I recently installed Ubuntu on it. Then it would randomly freeze and I would have to reboot. Now the number keypad will not work, including the ' home,' ' end,' ' pageup,' and ' pagedown' buttons. Is this a hardware problem or a software problem and how would I fix it?
