Answer
Just set the root password as follows:
sudo passwd root
enter the current logged in user accounts password:
Set the root password:
Re-enter the root password:
now you could switch over to the root account after the successful completion of setting the root password.

How to set a root password in Ubuntu 18.10
Hello, I have installed the Ubuntu 18.10, as soon as the terminal is open,when i try switching to root user account,its asking for a password where i hadnt acknowledge any setup that asks for root password during installation.Now how should i switch over to roots account?
