Installation Of Baun CMS On Linux Mint 19

Baun CMS is an open source, lightweight and extensible flat-file CMS for PHP. It doesn't require database and administration back-end and is a perfect solution for small websites. The main advantages of a flat-file CMS systems are simplicity, portability, security, speed and version control. This tutorial covers the installation of baun cms on Linux Mint 19.

Installation procedure

Check the Linuxmint version by using the following command.

root@linuxhelp:~# lsb_release -a

Downlaod the baun cms installation package using wget command

Once the download is complete extract the download package using unzip command

Move the baun cms directory to apache root directory

root@linuxhelp:~# mv Baun-1.3.2 /var/www/baun

Set the ownership and permission for baun cms directory

root@linuxhelp:~# chown -R www-data.www-data /var/www/baun

root@linuxhelp:~# chmod -R 775 /var/www/baun

Once the above step is completed configure the virtualhost for accessing baun cms

root@linuxhelp:~# vim /etc/apache2/sites-available/baun.conf
<Virtualhost *:80>
Servername www.linuxhelp1.com
Documentroot /var/www/baun/public
<directory /var/www/baun/public>
allowoverride all
allow from all
</directory>
</virtualhost>

Enter into the baun cms directory

root@linuxhelp:~# cd /var/www/baun

root@linuxhelp:/var/www/baun# apt install composer
