After downloading the ISO image, burn it to CD/DVD drive or bootable USB stack with the installation medium.
To start installation
Boot the Kali Linux and installation medium CD/DVD or USB is to start the installation process.
To set Language
Choose the language, country location where you live to be used for the installation process, need to configure with correct key map.
To select the Keyboard layout
DHCP server from router or from our local dedicated DHCP server. If not, have to assign the IP and host. Configure the Network will be default.
Choose Configure network manually and click Continue to provide the IP address with Net-mask.
The gateway of IP address is to provide the default router. In this case leave this blank or consult your n/w administrator.
IP address is entered into the name server, if you don’ t want to use, leave this option blank. If you have local DNS server you have to place the DNS IP address as name server.
Kali as host-name is set it by default is enter for your Kali Linux installation, you choose whatever you want.
If you have domain name set the name or leave blank and continue to move forward.
Need to set a password for root user on the next screen it should be protecting your server.
If you connected the internet configure the clock to match with your location this will set automatically or manually.
Next to choose Manual Partition. It’ s time to partition our disk for installation
Next we have to choose the disk from the list and click continue to move forward the installation.
Select Yes to create new empty partition table on your selected Hard disk
To create a ‘ /boot’ partition select the free space and click continue.
To create a new partition
Enter the size ‘ 300M’
Type of the New Partition: Primary
Location of the New Partition: Beginning
Mount point of the partition: select /boot
Select Done Setting Up Partition and click Continue.
Similarly, by selecting the free space create the SWAP and the ‘ /’ root partition by following the screenshots.The swap size must be double the size of your RAM memory. (Eg: 1GB RAM needs 2GB of Swap memory)
Select Finish partitioning and write changes to disk.
Select Yes to write the changes to disk.
Wait until the installer finishes its job. It may take 5-10 minutes.
Choose Yes to configure the package manager so that a network mirror can be used for any available updates.
Go with the defaults.
Choose Yes to install the GRUB boot loader on your hard disk.
Choose /dev/sda on which GRUB will be installed.
Click Continue at the Finish the installation screen. Your system will be restarted shortly.
Choose Kali GNU/Linux.
Login to your Kali Linux with root user and password which you have set in previous steps.
Enter your Password for the root user.
Kali Desktop
Check the Kali distribution version.
By this, you can install graphically
1)apt-get install open-VM-tools-desktop
And Restart the system
2)Reboot
3)Done!
2) Copy this command and press return:
systemctl –user enable PulseAudio && systemctl –user start PulseAudio
