Multiple Users Targeted For Card Theft Simultaneously By Magecart Groups

Payment-card data and PII are stolen from e-commerce sites by many magecart groups simultaneously and it is also recorded that some sites are targeted continuously by the threat groups.

Magecart is an term that is used to include all the different threat groups who all use the same modus operandi for hacking the Payment-card data for several websites.

The reseachers from PerimeterX announced that the attackers are skimming credit cards from the same site at the same time. But they have also conformed that the attackers compromise websites built on the Magento e-commerce platform. And the simutaneous hacking is not coordinated by the hackers as each of the attacks were different based on techniques.

In recent research magecart groups are also attracking clothing e-shop Sixth June and the hacked datas are posted on a domain called mogento[dot]info. The PEXSuperstore was also affected by a second Magecart skimmer. Both the skimmers are different based on the terms of code, obfuscation level and complexity. Even both the skimmers are different in many terms but both targeted the websites based on Magento.
