Hong Kong Ad Firm is Sued by Facebook Over a Ad Fraud Scheme
A Hong Kong ad firm is sued by Facebook against a complex ad fraud scheme. The users Facebook accounts were allegedly compromised by the Hong Kong firm and bombarded them with un-wanted ads featuring celebrities. Facebook has also framed a legal complaint on ILikeAd Media International company joining hands with two Chinese citizens deceived the users to click the ads and some kind of malware is installed.
The hackers were able to access the accounts into which the malware was installed. Facebook has previously faramed a legal complaint Ukrainian app developer in 2019 March. This kind of malware is also known as click injection fraud. Because the malware is installed into the users account once the user clicks on the ad link and then the malware is injected into the users account.
The hackers used the celebritise image to tend the users to click on the ad link and then another practises to inject the malware is known as clocking. Cloaking schemes are often sophisticated and well organized, making the individuals and organizations behind them difficult to identify and hold accountable.Facebook pledges to continue its fight against this sort of malicious behavior that affects its platform and to enforce the terms of its agreement and policies.
