Version Control

Also known as revision control, version control is a term which denotes the management of changes made to a file or a set of files over a period of time. These changes can be assessed and reviewed whenever needed. Documents, computer programs, web sites and other information are managed in version control.  The changes made on the files and documents are generally identified as a revision number.
