ISCSI

ISCSI stands for Internet Small Computer Systems Interface, which is a protocol used for the encapsulation of data into TCP packets. It facilitates the transfer of data across the WANs (wide area networks) and LANs (local area networks). It permits the connection of a host to the storage array with the help of an Ethernet connection. It is very cheap when compared to the Fibre Channel San and it transports SCSI responses and requests across an IP network.
