Security Zones

A security zone is also called as perimeter network. A security zone is a physical or logical subnetwork that contains and exposes an organization’s untrusted network like the internet. A demilitarized zone is also an important security zone that adds another layer of security to the organization’s local area network, the rest of the network is firewalled. Security zones are logical entities to which one or more interfaces are bound. A Juniper Networks stateful firewall secures a network by inspecting, and then allowing or denying, all connection attempts that require passage from one security zone to another.
