automount

automout works from an initial mount point and it reads the auto.master map and sets up the mount points for every entry made in the master map which are automatically mounted when they are accessed. If the filesystems are inactive for a period of time they are automatically unmounted.Automount, along with autofs, is similar to client-server model in computer networking. Here when a request is made the server autoduplicates it and simultaneously waits for another request.
