DNS Lookup
A user can’t remember long strings of digits to look for a website. So the user types a domain name like www.domainname.com, so that the request is forwarded to a DNS server that in turn returns the corresponding IP address. This address is then used by all computers and routers to channel the requests and responses of a user’s session. The result is the user sees web pages as expected.
