What is the difference between purge and remove command in deletion of installed packages on ubuntu machines

Hello,I just want to know the difference in deletion of the installed packages using purge and remove

It is better to use purge while deleting the packages as it entirely deletes the configuration files of the particular installed package where as the remove option it just deletes the package alone.
