how to copy paste in vim editor

I am using minimal operating system, So i cant able to copy and paste the contents in editors. How to do so and am using VIM editor frequently.

Jus open the file in VIM editor.

Hit Esc key and v to start copying the contents. Move the cursor to copy the required lines and hit Cntrl + P to paste. It will show u the drop-down and choose the content to be paste.
