Question

I cant install any application when the following error occurs, but it comes by occasional only....

 

any solution to avoid it permanent.....??

 

Existing lock /var/run/yum.pid: another copy is running as pid 3332.
Another app is currently holding the yum lock  waiting for it to exit...
  The other application is: PackageKit
    Memory :  27 M RSS (430 MB VSZ)
    Started: Wed Feb  1 10:00:40 2017 - 00:04 ago
    State  : Uninterruptible, pid: 3332

Although there is no permanent  solution for this error, you can rectify it by killing the yum with respective PID as follows....

#kill -9 3332

Orelse remove the PID file in /var/run location.....

#rm -rf /var/run/yum.pid
