WhatsApp, the mobile messaging app owned by Facebook, was recently hit by spyware that spreads through Whatsapp calls.
Although the company had stated that only a few users are affected by it globally, the Indian Government demands answers from WhatsApp, since the country has the largest number (200 million of its 1.5 billion users) of users in the world.
The reason that the Indian Government is quite concerned with the issue is that because it considers it a matter of National Security.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology wrote to Whatsapp seeking more further and accurate information on the cause and effect of the Spyware on Indian users.
