Google to tighten restrictions in Chrome on MacOS.
Apple’ s MacOS users must get used to view more warnings popping up on their screen whenever they browse or attempt to download files, as Google has announced on their blog about their new feature in the name of Chrome Settings Overrides API. The new utility set by Google is specifically for Mac and it widens the security as it improves defense against any unwanted software/malware aimed at MacOS.
Undesirable contents such as ad injection are to be mitigated. It also gives an end to manipulation of Chrome user settings, specifically the start page, home page and default search engine.
When the Settings Overrides API is launched, it will become a crucial requirement for the developers who wish to change the Chrome settings on Max OSX, a feature similar to Windows.
The new technology comes to effect from March 31 web surfers using Chrome will receive alerts about any software that attempts to alter Chrome settings without using the API.
