G Suite access for apps that only rely on usernames and passwords is blocked by Google
To protect users from account hijacking attempts Google is planning to limit the ability of legacy non-Google applications to access G Suite accounts starting in June. The non-Google apps which have access to Google accounts are considered as less secure apps. The user feels it easy as it requires only the username and password combination for login. Through the LSA G Suite account, data can be accessed with the username and password.
Google has announced that it is tightening up the security to prevent phishing attacks on email client users. These phishing emails are used by the attackers to get access to unauthorized Gmail data. As per the researchers, the users who use the same password across multiple sites are targeted and their accounts are illegally accessed.
If you re-use the password on another site that is subject to a data breach then they could access your account data with the password information through an LSA. Certain browsers were banned by Google in April to block MitM-based phishing attacks. So that the users will not be forced to click on alike that will help the hackers to get their username and password.
