To install OrangeHRM on CentOS 6.9

OrangeHRM is a free Human Resource Management system used in Linux distribution, which effectively develops and manages human resources of small and medium sized companies. It specifically manages the details of the employees like their performance, attendance and yearly appraisals. It is a flexible software, which is made available at a low cost and also provides easy installation and usage. This tutorial covers the installation procedure of OrangeHRM on CentOS 6.9.

Installation procedure

To proceed with the installation process, download the OrangeHRM package from its official website by running the wget command followed by the download link.

[root@linuxhelp Desktop]#  wget http://nchc.dl.sourceforge.net/project/orangehrm/stable/3.3.2/orangehrm-3.3.2.zip

Create the directory in html location by running the mkdir command.

[root@linuxhelp Desktop]# mkdir /var/www/html/orangehrm

Unzip the downloaded file by executing the following command.

[root@linuxhelp Desktop]# unzip orangehrm-3.3.2.zip
.
.
 creating: orangehrm-3.3.2/upgrader/web/uploads/
   creating: orangehrm-3.3.2/upgrader/web/uploads/assets/
  inflating: orangehrm-quick-start-guide.html  

Move the extracted file to the newly created directory.

[root@linuxhelp Desktop]#  mv orangehrm-3.3.2/* /var/www/html/orangehrm

Restart the Apache service by running the following command.

[root@linuxhelp Desktop]#  service httpd restart

Switch over to browser and enter the machine IP address, it opens the welcome page of OrangeHRM and click next option.

This window shows the licence agreement and click I accept option.

Fill the required database configuration detail and click next option.

This window shows the system check and list of components needed for the application and click next.

Fill the admin detail and click next.

The confirmation window appears on the screen before installation procedure and click next.

The installation procedure finishes and click Next option.

The Registration window will appear on the screen and click next.

Fill the required login details and click login option.

It opens the admin page of OrangeHRM.
