How to install ClipGrab on Ubuntu 17.04

To install ClipGrab on Ubuntu

ClipGrab is a free and fast downloader and converter for several video streaming sites such as youtube, vimeo, dailymotion, etc. You can easily save your favorite videos from these video streaming sites and convert them into usable formats such as WMV, MPEG or MP3. The installation method of ClipGrab is so easy and this article sheds light on its installation on Ubuntu.


Installing ClipGrab

Before you begin with the installation of ClipGrab on Ubuntu, make sure that you update your repositories. Use the following command for the same purpose.

root@linuxhelp1:/home/user1# add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/apps
 This PPA Contains Applications for Ubuntu/Linux Mint from different sources but debianized by http://www.NoobsLab.com
 More info: https://launchpad.net/~noobslab/+archive/ubuntu/apps

Once it is done, update the local repository index as follows.

root@linuxhelp1:/home/user1# apt-get update

Now is the time to install ClipGrab which can be done by triggering the following command.

root@linuxhelp1:/home/user1# apt-get install clipgrab

ClipGrab has been successfully installed. Open it with the help of following command.

root@linuxhelp1:/home/user1# clipgrab

Once the command is run, the ClipGrab application appears on your screen like in the following image.

You can know details about the application such as its version from the About menu.

Don' t you agree that it was a simple installation process. ClipGrab has myriad of uses as it can also download High Definition videos, but make sure that you select the HD in the Quality drop down menu. The downloads undertaken using ClipGrab are faster compared to many similar application.
