How to Install Antergos Linux

To Install Antergos Linux

Antergos is an open source Linux-based operating system. It allows the users to try a fully functional Antergos environment without changing the current state of the system. Installation process of Antergos Linux is explained in this article.

Prerequisites

Create Bootable media with ISO image of the OS and plug it into the local system. Then find the boot menu to install antergos. Download ISO image from the official site for antergos operating system.

Installation of Antergos Linux

Select the second option to boot into live image.

If you want to try it just click on try it option else click on install it to start installation process.

Checkout the system current state and follow below given steps to proceed the installation process.

Select your TimeZone.

Select keyboard layout.

Select the Desktop Environment that install along with operating system

If you want to install any software packages under this list, just select it.

Now you need to create the custom partition layout.

Click on New partition table to create the partition.

Select the following option and then click on Apply option.

Create /boot partition with 500 MB Size.

Then create swap partition with 2GB Size

Create root file system ' /' partition with remaining space.

Three partitions are created successfully. Then continue the installation process as follows,

Create user account with password to proceed installation.

Once the installation process is completed, restart the system and boot into hard drive to take effect. Login with the user credentials.

Finally you can access the Antergos operating system. Have fun!!!

If I download the new ISO will I need download updates when I am installing?

A

I don’t think so, but if you are using Antergos already, then your system should already be updated since Arch is a rolling distro.

If I am already using Antergos and I have been installing the updates regularly I will have everything that is included in the new ISO?

You will never have to re-install Antergos again.

Maybe there should be a suggestion to reboot after an update of Antergos?

You can go for this solution of rebooting Antergos Os but finding the exact cause always works.
