How to create VM template in VMware vSphere

The VMware vSphere is a web application that helps in the creation of virtual machines and is repsonsible for better efficiency, performance and availability. This tutorial covers on how to create VM template in VMware vSphere.

Configuration procedure

To start the installation procedure, first login to the VMware vSphere web client. Select the VMs and templates option.

Then right-click the VM that is going to be converted into a template. Select the template option and next select Convert to template option.

A new template is created successfully.

When a template is created from a VM, that VM cannot be used for other purpses. Next create a VM using the created template. Select the template and click new VM from this template

Then provide a name for the new VM and select the Datacenter and click next option.

Select the compute resource option and click next.

Next select the storage for the VM to be created and click next option.

Now configure the clone options as required and click next option.

Click finish to create the new VM from the template that is configured.

The VM creation is in progress and it may take some time to be configured on the VMware.

The installation is complete and a new VM is created successfully.
