To install Google Chrome 66.0 on Linux Mint 18.03

Google Chrome is a freeware web browser developed by Google and it was first released in September 2008. it is one of the most popular browsers and used by millions of users. Although it was initially developed for Microsoft Windows, it was later ported to the most operating system such as Linux, macOS, iOS, and Android.

Installing Google Chrome 66.0

First, we have to download the Google signing key.

linuxhelp ~ # wget -q -O - https://dl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub | sudo apt-key add -
OK 

And then we have to add the repository of Google-chrome.

linuxhelp ~ # echo " deb [arch=amd64] http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable main"  | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome.list
deb [arch=amd64] http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable main

Before starting your installation you should update our system repository.

linuxhelp ~ # apt-get update

Now we can install the Google-chrome application using the following command.

if you want to check the check the version of Google-chrome you can make use of the following command.

linuxhelp ~ # google-chrome --version
Google Chrome 66.0.3359.117

After installation, you can access the application from the menu.
menu_

The application is opened now and looks similar as shown in the image
chrome_application
