File Transfer

File transfer between computers can be done physically by using storage devices such as hard disk and diskettes between systems. The Internet also facilitates File Transfer through the File Transfer Protocol (FTP). Small files can be easily transferred through this protocol. In case of transferring large files, compressing them or zipping them into a single archive can do the job efficiently.  SSH, sftp and rsync are other modes which can be used for smooth transfer of files between computers.
