How to install Geeqie on Debian 8.3
Geeqie is a free software image viewer and image organizer program for UNIX like operating systems. It can also view raster and vector images. This tutorial covers the installation of Geeqie in Debian.
Installation procedure
To start the installation procedure, first add the repo in the target system.
root@linuxhelp:~# nano /etc/apt/sources.list
In configuration file, enter the two lines in the file and save it. Exit from the file.
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian jessie main
The configuration file is updated. Next update the apt source in the system.
root@linuxhelp:~# apt-get update

Next click the Activities window and type geeqie. The application will be displayed. Click on the icon and run the application.
Now Geeqie application is running. You can now use this application to view your images.
Wasn' t that an easy installation? Geeqie can display images in normal, fullscreen mode, static or slideshow mode.
