To install Android Studio on Ubuntu 17.04
Android Studio is the free and official IDE (integrated development environment) for Android platform development. Installing Android Studio is quite simple and the installation of Android Studio 2.3.1 is explained in this tutorial.
Installing Android Studio
Before the installation of Android Studio, you must install the necessary java packages. So, add the java packages into repository via ppa as follows.
root@linuxhelp1:~# add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
Oracle Java (JDK) Installer (automatically downloads and installs Oracle JDK7 / JDK8 / JDK9). There are no actual Java files in this PPA.

Android Studio has been installed, you can launch it from your Ubuntu dashboard as follows.
The Android Studio application appears on your screen.
Once the Android Studio Setup Wizard appears on your screen, click Next.
Select the Install Type and click on next
Finally click on the Finish button.
The additional Android Studio components will be automatically downloaded, but will take some time to complete.
