Router

Router handles the system traffic by routing the data packets between networks. It is responsible for the connection of two different networks. For the determination of best packet forwarding path, the router utilizes forwarding tables and headers. The two most common types of routing are static routing and dynamic routing. Static routing uses a fixed set of rules, which are defined in a routing table. Whereas, dynamic routing routes packets automatically based on the system needs.
