To install Rosegarden 17.12.1 on Ubuntu 18.04
Rosegarden is a free software digital audio workstation program developed for Linux with ALSA and Qt4. It acts as an audio and MIDI sequencer, scorewriter and musical composition and editing tool.

Installation

Update the system repository

root@linuxhelp1:~# apt-get update
Hit:1 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic-security InRelease
Hit:2 http://in.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic InRelease
Hit:3 http://in.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic-updates InRelease
Hit:4 http://in.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic-backports InRelease
Reading package lists... Done

Install RoseGarden using the following command.

root@linuxhelp1:~# apt-get install rosegarden -y
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree       
Reading state information... Done
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
  apache2-bin apache2-data apache2-utils libapr1 libaprutil1 libaprutil1-dbd-sqlite3

Use ' sudo apt autoremove'  to remove them.
The following additional packages will be installed:

  libffado2 libgsm1 liblo7 liblrdf0 libpotrace0 libptexenc1 libqt5core5a libqt5dbus5
