To install Foxit Reader on CentOS 7

Foxit Reader is a multi-lingual, PDF tool that is used to view, edit, create, digitally sign and print PDF files. It contains some features such as opening multiple PDF files, open password protected PDF files, support page rotation and text search, markup text in PDF file with text markup tools and adding notes in PDF files. This tutorial explains the installation of Foxit Reader on CentOS 7.

Installation procedure

To proceed with the installation procedure, download the Foxit package using wget command followed by the download link.

[root@linuxhelp ~]# wget http://cdn01.foxitsoftware.com/pub/foxit/reader/desktop/linux/1.x/1.1/en_us/FoxitReader1.10.0225_Server_x64_enu_Setup.run.tar.gz

Extract the downloaded file by running the tar command followed by the zip file.

[root@linuxhelp ~]# tar -xvf FoxitReader1.10.0225_Server_x64_enu_Setup.run.tar.gz
FoxitReader.enu.setup.1.1.0.0225(r205262).x64.run

Next run the following command to start the setup process of Foxit Reader. Go through the steps and finish the wizard steps.

[root@linuxhelp ~]# ./FoxitReader.enu.setup.1.1.0.0225(r205262).x64.run

The installation wizard is completed and to start running the application, type the FoxitReader command in the terminal and hit enter.

[root@linuxhelp opt]# FoxitReader

The Foxit Reader contains a pop-up window to prompt the user to set the application as default PDF reader.
